Bounce Rate

The bounce rate is a statistic that some web stats packages give that tells you how many people came to your site through that page and left without going any further.  For example, if 100 people came to this page through search results on Google and 50 of them left without going any further the bounce rate for this page would be 50%.  Of course you would like to have your bounce rate as low as possible assuming you are not trying to get your visitors to leave by clicking on ads.
