Building BobSmithPhotography.net has stopped expanding because I've been overwhelmed with spam on the comment forums. So, if you're here and have questions about web design come and visit Forums, Blogs, Wikis dot com. It has articles that I've written, some of which are also here, and a web design forum as well so you can ask any questions you may have. There is still a lot of good stuff here though, so poke around the links and take a look.

About Building BobSmithPhotography.net

Why am I spending my time writing another web tutorial site?  Why a ficticious photographer?

This started as a simple response to a posting at ProPhotoForum.  PPF is a forum for professional photographers and those that are aspiring to be pros.  As I am in the aspiring category, I have gained a lot of information from the established pros; but I wanted to find a way to contribute to the site.  Since I am a web nerd the internet category is where I set up shop, as well as couple of other categories.

The posting that started it all was asking how to start a web site.  What became the first posting on this site was what I thought was an answer to that question - simple HTML and CSS code to  build a page.  After that posting I realized that there were many more steps that needed to be shared, and each of them would be a potential stumbling block for new web builders.

By the third posting or so I thought that this might make a good separate site.  So I set up this domain and installed Etomite, a CMS that I've used before and been very happy with, so that I could put the same tutorials online on my site as well.  As I'm writing the tutorial on PPF I am also copying the postings to this site and they both grow together.

About Me
I'm 27 and living in Houston, Texas, and am a part time wedding and portrait photographer.  Of course I have a full time job as well, but not really relavent to this site.
